Description

We'll welcome you in Bayahibe, the starting point for this unforgettable journey, where you’ll board a speedboat. Get ready for an intimate, small-group adventure to Saona Island! Our first highlight is Penon, where our knowledgeable English-speaking guide will share the fascinating history of this rugged cliff and the Taino people, the island’s earliest inhabitants. We’ll then cruise through the mangroves, where unique Palétuvier trees thrive in the seawater. Our first stop on Saona is the charming village of Mano Juan. Take a leisurely stroll through its colorful streets, explore its quaint shops, and meet some of the warm-hearted residents. A special highlight here is a visit to a turtle nursery managed by a local family, where sea turtles are nurtured until they’re ready to be released back into the ocean. (Please note that sightings of baby turtles vary based on season and hatching cycles.) Next, we’ll pause for a delicious Dominican-style lunch at a nearby restaurant with stunning views over Saona Beach. Lobster lovers can enjoy a seasonal treat for $25 per person (available July 1st - February 29th). After lunch, we head to Canto de la Playa, one of the island’s most pristine beaches, where you can relax on the sands or snorkel in the clear waters. Our final stop is a natural pool, famous for its shallow, crystal-clear waters and giant starfish (which we kindly ask you not to touch). Here, you can wade through the warm waters and savor a refreshing drink, Dominican-style, before we return to Bayahibe, bringing home memories of a lifetime.
